Boat - rowing Experience
Yanagawa used to develop into a prosperous "castle - town" centered around Yanagawa Castle and is well - known as the hometown of the poet Kitahara Hakushu. Boat tours are a famous feature here. Taking a Donko boat, you can cruise along the criss - cross rivers in the city and experience the unique charm of the water town.
It is said that the "Donko boat" got its name because it resembles the "dojo loach" (pronounced "Donko" in Japanese), a type of goby fish.
In spring, peach blossoms and cherry blossoms bloom along the river, which is also a major attraction.
Costs: Depending on the rowing duration and the operating merchants, the cost per person ranges from 1000 to 2000 yen.
Yanagawa tachibana-tei ohana
Yanagawa tachibana-tei ohana. In the late Meiji period, the Western - style hall used as a guest - reception hall and the connected Japanese - style hall's lobby were renovated into a Japanese - Western - style mansion. The garden "Shotoen" stretching in front of the lobby has ancient pine trees judged to be over 200 years old, which have been designated as a national scenic spot.
Tickets: 700 yen for adults, 400 yen for high school students, and 300 yen for primary and junior high school students.
Lunch Recommendation: Popular Unagi (eel) Rice in Yanagawa
Eel dishes are a specialty of Yanagawa. There are some well - loved restaurants among locals and tasteful stores with attractive and antique exteriors.
Ganso Kikieya
The original Kikieya was established in 1681. The first generation created and preserved the sauce for more than 300 years. Since its establishment, the restaurant has always maintained the original sauce and unique cooking methods.
Wakamatsuya
Wakamatsuya was established in 1860 and has been in business for over 160 years. You can enjoy the fluffy texture of eel, sauce, and white rice blended together, with each grain of rice permeated with the flavor of eel.
Unagidokoro Kawayoshi
In front of the restaurant is part of the moat, which is also part of the river - cruise route, and there is an avenue of willow trees. Yanagawa City got its name from this. In addition to eel steamed in a bamboo steamer, the restaurant also offers various delicious eel - based dishes.

【 Dazaifu Tenmangu】 (about 90 minutes, free - activity time)
Dazaifu Tenmangu - The main shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning
Dazaifu Tenmangu enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, the well - known god of learning. It is the main shrine of about 12,000 Tenmangu Shrines in Japan and the largest - scale shrine in Kyushu. Many tourists from home and abroad come to visit.
In addition to the vermilion - painted main hall and the surrounding sacred gardens, there are many historical buildings in Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, such as the Amakai Inari Shrine, the Treasure Hall, and the Sugawara Historical Museum. It has different sceneries in all seasons. There are broad - leaved myrica trees and camphor trees listed as natural monuments, as well as plum blossoms, iris flowers, etc. blooming in turn. Plum blossoms were Sugawara no Michizane's favorite, and the plum blossom pattern is used as the shrine's crest, making the plum - blossom season particularly special. Among them, the sacred tree "Tobiume" on the right - hand side directly opposite the main hall is well - known. It is said that this plum tree flew from Kyoto to Dazaifu overnight because it missed Sugawara no Michizane.
Various festivals and events are held here throughout the year. There are countless wonderful highlights, demonstrating a long history that has continued for more than 1100 years.
Passing Exams with Flying Colors
Sugawara no Michizane is closely related to learning. Japanese students often come to the shrine before exams to pray for passing the exams and having a smooth academic advancement. Prayer ornaments can be purchased at the shrine office on one side of the main hall. During the exam season, the torii gates in the shrine are hung with ema, which is a magnificent sight.
In particular, the 太宰府分店 of Ichiran Ramen here has the 太宰府 - exclusive "Gokaku Bowl" (pronounced the same as "pass" in Japanese).
On both sides of the dining street leading to Dazaifu, there are rows of popular snack shops and gift shops. All kinds of small stores are worth visiting. In particular, the "ume - eda mochi" here must be tasted. The sticky outer skin with red - bean filling is sweet but not greasy, and it's definitely worth a try.
Kyushu National Museum -
The Kyushu National Museum is the fourth national museum in Japan after Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara. This newly established museum in 108 years is built on the hilly area of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and opened on October 16, 2005. It is the largest in scale among national museums. The curved roof symbolizes the undulating mountains, and with the double - layer glass exterior wall, the appearance of this huge building is very eye - catching. Other museums in Japan belong to the art series, while the Kyushu National Museum belongs to the history series. Based on the close relationship between Kyushu and various parts of Asia, with the concept of "grasping the formation of Japanese culture from the perspective of Asian history", it 常年开设 exhibitions introducing the development process of Japanese culture from the Paleolithic period to the late Tokugawa period.
Regular ticket price of the museum: 700 yen for adults, free for those under 18 (ticket prices for special exhibition areas vary, usually around 2000 yen).

This app made it super easy to reserve a space and time for our trip to NYC. We usually take the train, but needed a car this time. I usually hate looking for parking, so I tried to find a garage near our hotel. When I found that there was one just a block away I went to their website and saw that they had this app. It was super easy to set up and I found a space and was able to adjust the time and complete my transaction from creating an account to having a full parking space reservation in about five minutes. Unfortunately I ended up having to cancel my trip about a week early so I requested a refund and it was instant with no hassle. I think in general, from now on I’ll just use this app to see if there are other parking garages by the same owner, and reserve spaces in those (if I ever have to bring a car back to NYC - I still like the train better). The only 2 things things that I would wish for are: 1. That they had an option to add the parking pass to your Apple Wallet so I just need to bring up a code on my phone when I get there and they scan it. 2. They allowed you to add a previously booked guest reservation to your current account. I started on the web with the reservation and then got the app and wanted to add the reservation to the app, but couldn’t. I kept the app and will now use it from now on instead of checking out as a “guest” from now on. Overall, a great app.
Bardzo dobra cena kupiłem ze sporą zniżką polecam
Easy to book and cheaper than price at counter. Got the ticket on my mobile within minutes.
Made a last minute pivot in our plans and was able to easily secure tickets at a much lower cost. Highly appreciated and highly recommend! Thank you!
The process to purchase and use our tickets was easy. It saved us a substantial amount of money too. Very happy with my experience, I'll be using this site again.
