Lake Kawaguchi is located at an altitude of 830 meters, with an area of 5.7 square kilometers. The shoreline is winding and intricate, and there are numerous excellent viewpoints along the shore for gazing at Mount Fuji. Here, you can capture the stunning and magnificent reflection of Mount Fuji in the lake water.

Riding the Panoramic Cable Car by Lake Kawaguchi

Take a ride on the Kachikachi Mountain Cable Car by Lake Kawaguchi and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. The observation deck at an altitude of 1,075 meters is the best spot to admire the panoramic views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. On a clear day, you can even see the Southern Alps (such as Mount Akaishi and Mount Arakawa). At the top, there is a bell tower called the "Heavenly Bell," and it is said that ringing the bell will make your wishes come true.

The Lake Kawaguchi Fuji Panoramic Cable Car is set in the stage of Dazai Osamu's famous work "Kachikachi Mountain." Inspired by Dazai's story, the cable car cabins and observation deck are decorated with raccoon dog and rabbit dolls, inviting everyone to take photos and check in. The cable car to Kachikachi Mountain top takes about 3 minutes to reach the observation deck at an altitude of 1,075 meters, where you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. On sunny days, you can also get a distant view of the Southern Alps (such as Mount Akaishi and Mount Arakawa).

If the cable car cannot be operated due to weather conditions, the itinerary will be changed to a visit to the Sengoku Warrior Boat by Lake Kawaguchi or the ticket fees will be refunded.)

Tenkai Maru: Sengoku Warrior-Themed Boat

The Anzai ship, which belonged to the Takeda Army's navy during the Sengoku period, is a purely Japanese-themed sightseeing boat. It is designed with the Takeda Army's emblem, the "Takeda Hishi," and the color red as the main themes, showcasing their elegance and bravery. On a clear day, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the majestic Mount Fuji. The spacious boat is equipped with a 50-inch large display screen, which provides information about the beautiful Mount Fuji in all four seasons and the history and tourist attractions of the surrounding area, even on rainy days.

Lake Kawaguchi Matcha Experience (approximately 60 minutes)

Due to traffic jams or other force majeure situations, the overall duration of the matcha experience may be shortened.

Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and has the longest shoreline among them. It is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and is the lake with the lowest elevation and the longest shoreline in the Fuji Five Lakes. The cherry blossoms in spring, tulips in summer, and autumn leaves transform the scenery throughout the seasons. You can freely stroll along the lakeshore and fully appreciate the views of Mount Fuji. Here, you can add a matcha experience, learn to make matcha with a local teacher, and enjoy a cup to truly experience Japanese culture.

The ultimate state of the tea ceremony, "Ichi-go Ichi-e," is a term that has evolved from Japanese tea culture. In the tea ceremony, it means that the tea master will entertain each guest with the utmost sincerity, cherishing the rare opportunity to meet, as it may only happen once in a lifetime.

After the matcha experience, it is recommended that everyone leave the matcha shop and head to the lakeside to take photos and capture the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji.

(Lavender from June to July, crabapple and zinnia from July to September, and kochia in October)

Absolutely loved this tour—from panoramic Fuji views that felt straight out of a painting to the tranquil ambiance of Oshino Hakkai’s springs. The matcha tasting by the lake was also a lovely cultural touch. Highly recommend!

Well organized and smooth. Tety and our driver (Sorry don remember his name - this was the Mt. Fuji trip on May 2nd 2025) were perfect! Thank you for making this a fun tour - even though nature didnt cooperate with us and was pouring!

Perfect balance of nature and culture. Lake Kawaguchi reflected Mount Fuji so beautifully, and sipping fresh spring water at Oshino Hakkai was oddly calming. The tour was well-organized, and the photo stops were thoughtfully timed.
